The law in Massachusetts, in plain English
The Massachusetts Gaming Commission licenses seven online apps and the minimum age is 21. The 2022 sports wagering law excludes Massachusetts college teams unless they are playing in a tournament, and the Commission has fined operators for letting Boston College games onto their boards.
Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell sued Kalshi in September 2025, and in January 2026 a Suffolk Superior Court judge granted a preliminary injunction against its sports contracts. Kalshi appealed; the Supreme Judicial Court heard the case in May and had not ruled at this review, so Kalshi's and Polymarket US's sports markets here depend on that litigation. Novig is available in Massachusetts.
