The law in Georgia, in plain English
Georgia's constitution bans most gambling beyond the lottery, and the General Assembly has never agreed on how to put sports betting in front of voters. On Crossover Day, March 6, 2026, the House rejected a proposed amendment 63 to 98, far short of the 120 votes it needed, which ended the effort for the 2025-26 term. No sportsbook app can operate in the state.
