Dillingham laughs off Florida State rumors as Seminoles head to Boston College at 3-5
Arizona State's Kenny Dillingham shrugged off talk linking him to Florida State, and the 3-5 Seminoles now head to Boston College as 6.5-point favorites.

Kenny Dillingham isn't feeding the speculation tying him to Florida State. At his weekly Monday press conference on Nov. 2, the Arizona State coach got the Florida State question and brushed it aside with a smile. He told reporters he has been through this kind of talk before and that Saturday's game against Colorado was the only thing on his mind, according to The Arizona Republic.
The Republic's Logan Stanley reported that Dillingham also got a question about Mike Norvell, the Seminoles coach who gave him his first job in college football, possibly reuniting with him in Tempe. Dillingham shut that down. "Probably not going to happen," he said, and added that he expects Norvell to get plenty of chances to be a head coach somewhere and that he is pulling for him. He did not say anything that ruled himself in or out of a future in Tallahassee, and he made no commitment either way.
He did make one decision at his own program. Freshman Jake Fette, who made his first start in a loss at BYU, will stay at quarterback while Mikey Keene works his way back. Fette was sacked six times in the first half in Provo. After halftime he wasn't sacked at all and threw two touchdown passes, and Dillingham said Fette handled the second half like a veteran.
None of that changes much for Florida State this week, but it shows how much attention the program is drawing. The Seminoles are 3-5 and have lost three straight: 20-44 at Louisville, 35-43 at No. 3 Miami and 24-36 at home against Clemson. That works out to 123 points allowed in three games. They are 1-4 in ACC play, and their only league win was a 38-7 rout of Virginia. With the record under .500 in early November and the coach's future already being raised at other schools' press conferences, the rest of the schedule will be watched for more than the results.

The 51.5 total fits how Florida State has played lately. The offense has scored at least 20 in every game, and the defense has given up 36 or more in each of the last three. For a team trying to reach bowl eligibility, the road trip to Chestnut Hill matters a lot. More on the season is on our Florida State team page.
